STYLE STORY: NELLCÔTE

Happy Monday! There are few things I love more than summer in Chicago. It makes withstanding the long arduous winters worth it. Seriously, that's how much I love Chicago summertime. This past weekend was one of the most beautiful summer weekends in Chicago and I made good use of it by eating out with amazing company.

This summer has been a fatty fest for me. I'm trying really hard to put a sizeable dent into the list of Chicago restaurants I have been dying to visit since the list only gets longer as more and more amazing restaurants open up here. But let's be real, this list will just keep getting longer no matter how hard I try.

Nellcôte is one that has been vying for my attention. We finally went for brunch this past Saturday and it was delicious! First of all, the service was amazing and our food and drinks arrived so quickly!

For drinks we tried the blueberry soda and the bellini which were both yummy.

For food I had lobster hash. It was beyond delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of lobster they gave me! I also tried my friend's quiche lorraine which was pack full of mouthwatering flavors.

We also spent time admiring the decor of the restaurant. I was thinking it'd be the perfect setting for a private party with the rows of chandeliers and drapery and the mix of settee seating, regular tables and high tables. They also have outdoor seating with beautiful arbors and climbing plants. In the entrance of the restaurant, there's a tiled wall lined with test tubes of dried flowers which was instant inspiration for a wall in my home. I mean, how lovely is this?

One of my best friends is great with a camera and took some shots of my brunch outfit. I decided on a striped shift dress since I wanted to wear something comfy. Since the dress was a statement piece in itself, I decided to pair it with a monochromic necklace, simple peep toe wedges and a new Rebecca Minkoff bag that I got for a steal from T.J.Maxx!

ALSO! You may or may not remember my post earlier this year about FashionABLE (one of my favorite causes!) and their super cute scarves, but they are having a contest for the newest scarf design and they need YOU to vote for the winner amongst the top 3 designs! It'll be a tough decision since they're all so great! You can vote HERE!

I hope you all have a wonderful week! Keep loving big and extending grace to those who need it. Here's some extra encouragement from Bob Goff:

  5. It's true, summer is the one thing that makes winter worth-while. And dining alfresco is one of the best things about summer! Everything looked and sounded so good, and you could not be cuter in your striped dress!
