Style Story: Maize & Blue Pt. 1 {Chicago Wolverine}

While Fall means the start of school for most people, it also means the start of college football.

Little did I know I'd end up at the University of Michigan for undergrad or that I'd become a season ticket holder all 4 years I spent there. Win or lose, I loved the times I got to share with friends in the Big House & also experience things like The Big House Wave!

Most people know I rarely wear a Tshirt or sweats in public (when I'm home it's a different story), so I had fun piecing together maize/yellow and blue items from my closet and adding girly accessories for game day outfits. Another obstacle was dressing for the crazy bipolar Michigan weather which was always...interesting. I remember when one game started off sunny, then rainy, then snowy. That's when you are thankful there's always plenty of body heat in a crowded Big House.

Anyway, onto the story behind this style series, Maize & Blue.

I'll be posting my favorite looks for game day. I wish I still got to spend most Saturdays cheering on my Wolverines at the Big House, but the best I can do is getting dressed up in my maize & blue gear and cheer them on remotely. And perhaps a positive note of not being at the game is the fact that I can wear heels without wondering how I'm going to stand on my seat for 4 hours!

Even if you aren't a Michigan fan, hopefully this series will inspire you for outfits including your own school colors or just for fun everyday looks.

Here's to game 1!

Dress: Old Navy | Necklace: ILY Couture | Shoes: Naturalizer (old)
