STYLE STORY: BE BOLD IN LOVE

Friends, did you hear about the devastating attack that took place in Kenya yesterday? It breaks my heart. 147 lives were taken and the gunmen were targeting followers of Christ. This news hits right at home since I was just there to share the love of Jesus! And there are incredible people in Kenya who I love dearly and call my family.

My Kenya family taught me so much about Love. They taught me how to Love, how to live out Love, and live it boldly. When we served together in the schools and in the clinics, I was amazed by their bold love for others. They were extraordinary examples of how to be the hands and feet of Jesus. But the craziest part: their biggest mission is to love and serve the Somalis despite the danger (the militant group that carried out the attack is from Somalia).

One of my favorite moments from the trip was when our driver stopped the bus on our way to a busy clinic day. He opened the bus doors and in walked a very pregnant Somali woman. I was sitting next to a local and she explained that the woman likely had to walk miles to get to the hospital. Sure enough, probably half an hour later we dropped her off by a hospital. I was shocked that she was planning to walk that far in 90 degree humidity in her condition. But what really hit me was that our bus driver took notice of her, and without a second thought gave her a ride on our packed bus. My family's big & generous hearts never ceased to amaze me!

Will you join me in praying for Kenya? In light of today being Good Friday, let's all remember to put on love today. Just as Jesus did when He died on the cross for us out of His great Love for us, may Love reign and overcome hate & brokenness.

For today's look, I styled a mix of bold colors. And to play up its fun, I wanted Chicago's landmark, Navy Pier, to be the backdrop. Friends, let's be bold in style & love!
