STYLE STORY: PASTEL CHRISTMAS

Christmastime is here!

Recently, a few stories have come up in the news and on social media that have made me realize that we, including myself, often lose sight of the meaning of Christmas. It's more than red Starbucks cups, snowflakes, Christmas trees, the colors red and green, white elephant gift exchanges, Santa, etc. While those things are all fun symbols of Christmas, we need to remember why we even celebrate Christmas. So let's just remove the fluff and get to the root of it all.

We celebrate Christmas to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. While it's always fun to give and receive gifts on Christmas morning, I'm reminded of the ultimate gift we have already been given. The gift of grace and love from God in the form of His son, Jesus. Nothing can beat that gift, the promise of second chances, a personal relationship with God and eternity with Him in heaven.

While putting together a Christmas look, I had initially been thinking along the lines of "Christmas colors". But after thinking through all of this, I thought, "why not move away from those symbols of the holiday?"

I decided to embellish an all white look with a beautiful coral tulle skirt from Azazie. There's something graceful in pastel colors. Don't you think?

  1. That skirt is GORGEOUS. I've been struggling with the "dark colors only for Christmas" idea too, so I'm all for more pastels! :) Have a great holiday!
